Stouffville, February 25, 2010 – Motivated by the desire to help children and adults in dire need in Haiti, generous Canadian corporations are partnering with cbm Canada to collect shoes and clothing for a container shipment to Haiti.
“It’s impossible to realize the massive struggle every surviving child now faces in the wake of this horrible disaster in Haiti,” said Katherine Chapman, co-founder of OLLY® shoes fit for a kid.
OLLY® shoes fit for a kid, along with Mark’s Work Wearhouse® and Winner’s® are among the Canadian corporations that are partnering with cbm Canada.
A leading international Christian humanitarian organization cbm Canada has been working in Haiti since 1976, with development projects assisting more than 80,000 persons throughout the country, including five programs for those with disabilities in Port-au-Prince.
cbm has been providing emergency life-saving care since the day of the Haiti earthquake on January 12 and will be there for the long run. More than 300,000 people have been injured from the disaster.
cbm Canada will be sending a container with donated gently used shoes and clothing, personal hygiene items, along with vital surgical equipment, supplies, wheelchairs, and other medical supplies to Haiti.
