Volunteer with cbm

cbm is looking to generate a pool of positive, enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to assist with special events around the Toronto area. The events are to promote the work of cbm and our Talking Book Library Services as well as advocate on behalf of people with disabilities.

Location: The events take place around Toronto area. We require assistance at different special events available right in your own community.

Time Commitment: Volunteer must be able to commit to at least 4 events per year.

These special events include:

·       Festivals                        ·       Conferences                       ·        Advocacy
·       Fundraising Events        ·       Disability Awareness          ·       School & Church Events

Key Responsibilities:

·            Promote the work of cbm and the services of the Talking Book Library - handing out information and explaining our services
·            Answering inquiries regarding the different services offered by cbm
·            Speaking to the public about inclusion for persons with disabilities in our local communities and in international development
·            Assist in planning and organizing special event activities

Qualifications:

·            Friendly, outgoing and approachable personality
·            Positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated
·            Strong time management and organizational skills
·            Excellent written and oral communication skills

Support: Orientation about the organization on the first day and ongoing training before each event.
