About You:

You are a student between the ages of 15 and 30. You have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year. You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with official refugee status.

Founded in 1908, we are one of the world’s oldest and largest organisations working in this field.  cbm Canada targets the people affected by disability by supporting local partner organisations to run programs in the fields of healthcare, rehabilitation, education and  livelihood opportunities. cbm Canada also advocates for disability inclusion following UN guidelines in international policy-making bodies, and campaigns and raises funds through its member associations.

About the summer student position:

About the role:

The Administrative Assistant/HR Summer Student position exists to help support the daily operations of the Administrative & Human Resources Departments.

  • Performs a variety of Internet research functions
  • Uses word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
  • Fields telephone calls
  • Filing & data entry
  • May assist with overflow work from Executive Assistant and fill in for the office receptionist as needed
  • Creates and distributes documents
  • Maintains computer system by updating and entering data
  • Participates in recruitment efforts
  • Maintains current HR files

About your skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as a part of the team and willingness to collaborate
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a high demand environment
  • Must be highly motivated and willing to find solutions to problems in which you have no previous experience or exposure
  • Must be able to balance interrupt driven tasks alongside on-going projects
  • Must have a reliable source of transportation
