About You:

You are a student between the ages of 15 and 30. You have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year. You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with official refugee status.

Founded in 1908, we are one of the world’s oldest and largest organisations working in this field.  cbm Canada targets the people affected by disability by supporting local partner organisations to run programs in the fields of healthcare, rehabilitation, education and  livelihood opportunities. cbm Canada also advocates for disability inclusion following UN guidelines in international policy-making bodies, and campaigns and raises funds through its member associations.

About the summer student position:

About the role:

The Cinematography Summer Student position exists to support with the scripting and editing of short films, in alignment with cbm Canada’s brand and fundraising campaigns..

  • Assist Marketing Team in creating inspiring fundraising videos from existing video footage, ensuring that the cbm Canada brand messaging is maintained
  • Develop storyboards, scripts, visual concepts for videos in collaboration with the cbm Canada Marketing Team to support the overall marketing and fundraising targets

About your skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience with filmmaking process from preproduction through postproduction
  • Knowledge of audio visual production techniques
  • Knowledge of various film production equipment
  • Knowledge of lighting techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have an artistic vision, ability to conceptualize, creativity, attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work as a part of the team and willingness to collaborate
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a high demand environment
  • Must have a reliable source of transportation
